Signs of life..

Remember the potatoes in a bag?  After two weeks, I've spotted life!!!

I'm not getting the skillet heated up for the hash browns yet, but I think there will be potatoes in our future.  I feel pretty confident that Fiddlestix Farms WILL have the earliest potato harvest in the area.  On the agenda for the weekend....planting more of those sprouted guys in the rest of my Smart Bags!!

Not the typical bag of potatoes

A bag of potatoes generally means a plastic see through bag of ready-to-eat spuds.  Not at my house!!

I ordered these new Smart Bags to use for outdoor planting of various plants like blueberry bushes, flowers or anything one would like to grow on a patio or deck.

I don't have a patio OR a deck, but I DO have a whole mess of potatoes that didn't quite make it to my spring planting date of Good Friday.  I saved back A LOT of potatoes from my summer garden both for winter eating and spring planting.

I stored them in paper sacks in my storage room.  Maybe too much light...maybe too warm....maybe we should have just eaten all of them because when I opened a bag in February, here's what I found.......

Overactive, hyper alert, super anxious spuds!!!  I KNOW HOW THEY FEEL!!

I think my winter "get me to the garden" energy transferred to my potatoes.  I also suffer from "can't throw it out" syndrome. so I decided to trailblaze the potato-in-a-sack method.  CeCe needed some February dirt therapy so she was eager to help.

It's not stealing...it's research

Fiddlestix Farms is always on my mind....

I'm simply climbing the neighbor's wall to research how grapefruit trees grow....plus  the fruit was awesome:):)

A Scottsdale vacation in February is a beautiful thing!  We hiked, waked, art showed, ate and caught up on the list of "to do".

The house we rented had NO fruit trees, but a few branches of the neighbor's tree were hanging on our side.  Fair game, right? Well...it didn't take long to empty those branches for lemonade.  My choices:
     1.  Go buy lemons & grapefruit
     2.  Go without
     3.  Climb the wall

I chose door number 3.

Good news for laying hen owners🐓

What a great time to be a Fiddlestix Farms member.  Eggs are the ONLY thing being harvested at the farm right now.
The following article supports what my genius husband has been telling his patients for years.....well before his wife sold eggs😜.

One to two eggs per day is not a concern for your cholesterol!!

Listen to your doctor.  .
........Buy more eggs🐓🐓
