Not the typical bag of potatoes

A bag of potatoes generally means a plastic see through bag of ready-to-eat spuds.  Not at my house!!

I ordered these new Smart Bags to use for outdoor planting of various plants like blueberry bushes, flowers or anything one would like to grow on a patio or deck.

I don't have a patio OR a deck, but I DO have a whole mess of potatoes that didn't quite make it to my spring planting date of Good Friday.  I saved back A LOT of potatoes from my summer garden both for winter eating and spring planting.

I stored them in paper sacks in my storage room.  Maybe too much light...maybe too warm....maybe we should have just eaten all of them because when I opened a bag in February, here's what I found.......

Overactive, hyper alert, super anxious spuds!!!  I KNOW HOW THEY FEEL!!

I think my winter "get me to the garden" energy transferred to my potatoes.  I also suffer from "can't throw it out" syndrome. so I decided to trailblaze the potato-in-a-sack method.  CeCe needed some February dirt therapy so she was eager to help.
